Offutt MILNET DDN Node Down-Time
1. Due to PSN 105 hardware upgrade and the de-installation of PSN 144 at
Offutt AFB, the Offutt Milnet DDN node will not be operational starting
0900 CST until at least 1500 CST on 9 Dec 91. As on any hardware upgrade,
there is a possibility that the action will take longer than expected.
This PSN provides 1-800 dial in service for a large geographic area,
in order to continue to provide this service, DISA will request ATT to
reroute all 1-800 Offutt traffic to nodes 124 and 147 at Wright Patterson
AFB. The rerouting will stay in effect until the TAC at PSN 105 is
operational. Once the TAC is operational, it will take ATT about one
hour to change the routing back to Offutt. We anticipate a maximum time
of three days (9 Dec through 11 Dec 91) that this rerouting may be
required. Due to the amount of usage of the Offutt dial ins, Wright
Patterson will have considerably more busy signals. Please bear with us
during the upgrade, we will re-establish normal service as quickly as
possible.
